"Why do I have to be tested with all the hardship in life?"
Do people think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested? We did test those before them, and God will certainly know those who are true from those who are false. Al-Ankabut 2,3
"I will always long for it but I never able to get it."
But you may hate a thing although it is good for you, and love a thing although it is bad
for you. God knows, but you do not know. Al-Baqarah, 216
"This burden is too hard for me to bear."
God never burdens a soul beyond its capacity and means. Al-Baqarah, 286
"I feel frustrated."
So do not become weak, nor be sad, and you will be at the highest degree, if you believe.
Al-Imran, 139
"I need your help God."
Seek for help in patience and prayer. Indeed prayer is heavy- except for those who focus and concentrate. Al-Baqarah, 45.
"To whom should I put hope with?"
God is sufficient for me. There is no God but Him, and only to him I give hope and faith.
Al-Taubah, 129
"I feel like giving up."
And don’t you give up and stop seeking blessing from God. No one loses faith and hope from God unless he is not a believer. Yusuf, 12.

singapore again
Last Tuesday I took the whole day off- I went to Singapore. With my good friend who came back for a while from Australia.
We took a very nice bus, and it's double-deck.

We entered the island city in the afternoon, and everything could be seen clearly. Weird, with my ulcer in my lips and a dry throat, my excitement being in my favorite city was cut by thirty percent. And I saw some new things never I seen before after a few times visiting the lion city.
Rubbish. Were every where. Mineral bottles, plastic bags.
Trees and bushes were not trimmed and taken care of.
I wondered what happened, is today an official day to go against the rules?
I guess as much as we like it to be a perfect place, like a toy city, the people living there are as human as us too.
Anyway, since we arrived there in the afternoon, nothing much could be done.
Went to three CD shops to find a CD of Taufik Batisah for my friend, but it was sold out.
We rushed to buy bus tickets back home, and also took some time to eat MOS burger.
And we were just in time to watch Chris Botti in Esplanade. (That was our main intention of going to Singapore)
Ah, Esplanade.
Facing the splendid city skyline of Singapore.
Too bad I was rushing with my friend and had no time to snappyhappy.

Chris Botti.
I captured the moment he stood there on stage in my mind.
With just the right black suit that emphasizes his tall and slender figure.
Holding his trumpet up and started to play.
I was astounded.
How would it be if I were in the same situation,
Standing in front of hundreds of listeners?
He is such an inspiration.
Some people question his capabilities.
They say that he is either not good enough, or not original, or just mingling around with the correct powerful and famous people to climb on the ladder.
So far I think he’s doing great.
After the concert ends, time to go home.
Seen in the gift shop next to Espalanade..

I had few minutes to jump into Watsons and bought my favorite wax,
they don't have it in Malaysia. Only SD6.00, good and cheap.

We walked from Bugis MRT, passing the Bugis Street where all the stalls are closing for the night, and waited for our bus at Beach Road. I was extremely fatigued.
And as I waited inside the bus to start its journey home, I saw another reality, outside the window.

A man with worn out shorts and t shirt, sleeping on an old mattress beside the dumpster. In Singapore. He's sleeping comfortably though.
It doesn't matter.
I am not loving the city less. =)

can't run away from the topic
Yeah, because we are living in it.
I was discussing about global warming in my family's email chain,
after one of my aunts forwarded us an email about lists of predicted disasters
in the coming years- hurricanes, earthquakes.
And my uncle replied this-
Welcome to the Club.... This is the essence of my work at the Kementerian Tenaga.
When I climbed Mt Kilimanjaro, the ice was almost gone. They say, it will be gone forever by year 2025.
Unfortunately, Malaysians are not very concerned about global warming as they thought we have a lot of oil. To make it worse, fossil energy consumption is heavily subsidized. I just found that in Denmark, the price of petrol is about RM7 per litre! And I just booked a car for our holiday in Norway--which I expect would have around the same price.
All these cheap things are encouraging wastes and pollution. I always ask my university students which they would prefer: a government policy which subsidizes food, energy, etc, but suppresses salaries (like Malaysia) or let world market forces determine food and energy prices in the country but also increase salaries (like Singapore)? They all say: Singapore model is preferable!
I used Google earth, and this is how the Mt Kilimanjaro looks like today-

crossroad
Finally it came to a time when I was so determined to have it all-
And I had it all,
Til I got confused.
I went through an interview as one of the management staff of the most prestigious orchestra in the country.
There's an 80 percent probability that I have already nailed the job.
As much as being excited, half believing that I was there, at the management office, and went through doors and finally having myself sitting at the orchestra box, watching the orchestra rehearsed-
I am now also experiencing doubt, fear, and uncertainty.
Should I just take this job?
Or should I stay as an IT Executive in another prestigious company, working at day and having all my free time after work, to develop myself as a trumpet player?
You might feel weird, how come I am still thinking, instead of just grabbing the chance thrown in front of my face?
Afte all, to have this orchestra management job, I will be really closely related to an orchestra.
But as close as I can get, I fear that I'll just be dealing with the musicians but never will be one of the players. I fear that all my working life will be devoted to manage the orchestra, and I fear that I will be too busy, that I have to give up all my involvement as an actual player in other orchestras.
So near but yet so far.
Hm. Decisions, decisions.

can you spot and guess the place?
what's our excuse?

The picture above shows a group of Moslems praying, in between the remnants of building after an earthquake.
But that's not what I wanted to say here.
When a frog hops onto a hot surface, it will jump away.
But when a frog sits in a container which is gradually getting hotter, it won’t realize any difference until gets boiled dead.
That is what Al Gore told in his speech, regarding on human ignorance about the nature.
Big industrial companies especially in the States have their manufacturing activities going on without any preventative measures to protect the world from pollution.
The CO2 gas level is increasing dangerously, we all know that.
Huge glaciers are melting, we all know that.
Cyclones coming out of no where, storm and draught came, we all know that.
Even here in our country- sometimes it’s scorching hot outside.
The sad thing is, we prefer to have things conveniently done,
Not considering the impact of it.
Even I myself, sitting here by my desk,
Eating breakfast from a disposable polystyrene food container,
And a disposable plastic spoon.
So what? After all it’s so convenient, right? It’s not my fault, it’s them providing it with the food, right? It’s not my problem, the polystyrene and plastic will always be taken care of, after I chuck it into the dustbin, right?
The term disposable is just a cover up. We don’t know whether it will be recycled properly or not. And polystyrene, so far that I know, is not disposable.
Any small good deed has a tendency for people to ridicule it.
We all know that each individual small steps, be it good or bad, could cause a huge impact.
The whole globe environmental crisis is a collective result, contributed by each and every person on earth.
If only we don’t forget and be aware about it.
Before we end up like a well-cooked frog.
Rather than questioning people about their awareness about the environment,
How about I try apply it on myself.
Time for me to remind myself to use my own spoon and lunch box.
nice, nice
Yeah, this is quite late to comment.
I was pleasantly surprised when my favorite artist did her show this way.
Clever. Cute.

Fuh!
After a little bit of effort and some help from friends,
And also a couple of months of savings,
Finally I’ve got my very own idiot box.
Tara…

More news about it at bibik’s spot.

uncle
Uncle is strong and has a huge figure. (ignore the tummy)
Uncle followed us to another office and helped to carry monitors, servers, printers-
only with his two muscular hands. He carried those old equipments one by one into the lorry, to be demolished later.
Uncle followed us back to the main office.
Uncle said, I have to get a few old monitors in the main office.
We asked, which floor?
Uncle said, the one with the taman (garden) in it.
I am baffled. There is no garden inside the building. The only available one is the beautiful landscaping with fountain outside the building. How can you have a taman inside the office?
Uncle just followed us to our department, and then he pointed at the entrance-
“There! That’s the taman.”

Uncle finished carrying all the unwanted monitors from our department.
It’s already five in the evening. Uncle said,
“I’m going home now. It’s already five, and I carried forty monitors from another company early in the morning.”
Wah. Uncle carried forty monitors and never look tired.
Uncle is so strong.
