D.I.Y

It rained last night.

Since I got nothing to do after having sandwich for a light dinner,
I took out my needle and thread.

(I have one button fallen off my favorite shirt.
I have sharp toe nails-
my socks keep on having holes after a few months using them-
without fail.)

By using something which cost only RM2.50,
I managed to sew back everything together.

Taraa…

It’s nice that even something so small
can make you have a happy and productive evening.

sweet relatives

It was a nice afternoon, and relatives came to my aunt’s house for makan-makan to celebrate her and his husband going for hajj soon.

When it’s time for me to leave, I gave the salam to my grandma.

Grandma yang pandai-pandai::
*looking to my aunt* This nephew of yours is asking you to do’a for his jodoh to come soon.

Auntie::
*with the I-mean-business gesture* Betul ni? Betul ni? You can write down the list of things, and I can help to do’a for you in front of Ka’aba.

Mom::
*lifting both hands like a child in kindy* Saya setuju! Saya setuju!

Hmph.

true story.

It was a horrible accident.
Both husband and wife were stuck inside the crushed vehicle,
and the husband’s head was chopped off in the crash.

The wife was still alive, with broken arms.

The leader of the rescue team
quickly placed back the head of the man on top of the body,
and fastened the neck brace on the man’s neck,
just to avoid the wife from getting a huge shock to know that her husband is dead.

“My husband, my husband, I want to see my husband,” she said.
They let her see her husband for a while, before carrying her into the ambulance.

This lady, had the strength to lift her broken arm,
touched her husband-
not realizing that he’s already gone.

“Everything will be okay, don’t worry,” she said.

At that point no one else said a word,
and the air was filled with the sound of chainsaw,
cutting through the car to remove the body.

One of the rescuers was a happy-go-lucky lad,
but during that moment he cried.
The team leader told him quietly,
“Wipe off your tears. Do not show it.”
And the boy said back to him,
“Wipe off your tears too.”

Drive at moderate speed.
It could save your life.

(this unforgettable experience was shared to us during a road safety talk).

odd one out

I do not really fancy super sweet drinks, but I insist on adding syrup in Chinese tea.

I do not like durian, but I do eat the product made out of durian.

I dip French fries in ice cream.

I eat eggs without the yolk, fried chicken without the skin, to avoid cholesterol.

I ban all chilli and hot spicey food.

I can eat like a poor beggar just to save money for an expensive purchase or a vacation.

Of course people would raise an eyebrow or laugh,
and the ironic thing is, I will always get so personally offended by that.

I should cool down and laugh at myself sometimes.

There's nothing wrong being weird and unique,
it might be funny but it's not bad!

They say, “be serious with your job, but don’t be serious with yourself”.

bangkok. a cocktail of culture, cityscape, shopping, and food.

Thanks to my two dear friends in Bangkok,
It was for you two that I had an extremely enjoyable,
comfortable, and happy time in the city.
Your hospitality and love really made me amazed.

Ah, after a few months saving money and giving it an effort, I finally pushed it to reality.
I went to Bangkok, Thailand. After the entire struggle that I went through to plan for this trip, no matter what, I made sure that I enjoy it to the max.

My friends brought me for a boat ride along Chao Phraya river, visiting the temples there.

This river is one of the main medium for transportation, where the people would take a boat ride to go to work.

A large office building so near to the river bank.

An old building, also so near to the river bank.

The river.

Now let’s look at these magnificent temples.

Intricate decoration.

High quality lasting tiles.

Bells.

Each stupa has the ashes of one prominent royalty, and most of them were kings.

And the most awesome thing that I saw was the reclining Buddha.
I finally got to see one, I don't really need to go Penang anymore!

And. The shining golden Buddha.

We also walked around the city, day and night.

Pink taxi cabs and cute tuk tuks.

Silom city.

The grand palace.

A newly built stupa for the funeral of the king’s sister.

And of course I’ve got the chance to indulge- shopping and food.

Eating the less pricey Swenson’s is a compulsory.

Their keropok.

And while walking at the Chatuchak market, I’ve got to see these so cute pets.

Nice cat with cheetah-ish fur.

Nice high class cat.

The cat shop owner is also nice. Sigh~

Puppies all over.

Kittens!

Well, apart of that I also bought a lot of stuff.
Working shirts, beach pants, swimming trunks, and one CD...

And finally on the third day, I went to the airport and said ta-ta.

What do I think personally about the city?
Well, each city- Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur/Damansara, and Singapore-
has their own character. I think I love all three.
But still I prefer to stay here, a small dot in Damansara.

Of course, I can't get enough of Bangkok.
Will visit it again sometime soon.

prepare for new policy

The IT department of my company,
with the approval of the CEO,
had just subscribed a new lease line for the company,
and had just given internet access to staffs at executive level.

More people will have the chance to surf,
but there's a price.
A new firewall was purchased, and my bosses are fine-tuning it.

Today I can see that the online chat site is blocked.
Probably blogspot.com and facebook.com will be blocked soon.

Excuse me if I seem to be online less in future... :(

at the music studio

Free on Sunday?

Come and watch the Asian Beat Competition!

Venue: Beach Club
Date: Nov 16th, Sunday
Time: 2 pm

I'm joining a participating band,
and we're having practices almost every night,
since the competition is just around the corner.

Most of the bands are rock bands,
but ours is a fusion between rock and jazz. Something like that.

Snapshots of our rehearsals at the studio..

Bassist.

Drummer.

Keyboardist.

Saxophone player.

*Thank you God, for all the opportunities given
towards my dream as a world-class trumpet player.

souvenirs

The thing about souvenirs- they can become either collectibles, or dust collectors.
These are three "collectibles" that I treasure and spared from the dustbin. =P

From Australia and Bali.
(Funny, coincidentally these two places are actually next to each other on the globe)

From Thailand.

so adorable

I was at the call center department, trying to fix one staff’s PC.

My colleague was next to me, fixing another staff’s PC.

The thing was placed right in front of my eyes, seducing me.

I feel like holding it, feeling it with my fingers.

It’s not safe because I’ll be caught red handed.

I quietly snapped a photo instead.

Sigh. My little Pony. Look at the wonderful pink hair.

got carried away

After a long conversation with dear dear Z,

I see that these few days my blog is cultivating negativity- and hate- and discomfort
inside myself and anyone who reads it.
This energy later would be passed on into our lives, passed on to the people around us.

Little or big, it would definitely affect everyone's life.

This should stop, so I have decided.

To snip away all the unnecessary negativities here.

So please don’t be all startled if suddenly one or two recent posts are no more available.

things are running well

I'm here at the cyber cafe, had just returned from a live band rehearsal at a studio which is one hour drive from my place.

In two weeks, I'll be in a live band, performing in the Beach Club in KL, in a well known competition.

Looking back into all the activities I've done currently, I am quite happy to see that I'm jumping back onto the fast track.

What I've learnt is that no matter how difficult you feel and even if you have to drag your body on the floor towards your dreams, just do what you have to do and don't kill your dreams. Let it stay alive.

There will definitely be times when you are down,
things don't work out and things seem so tough,
people reminding you again and again that it's a tough road you've chosen,
people around you making fun and mocking every single thing that you say,
people who give annoying comments on your blog (LOL),
but these are just part and parcel of the whole journey.

We live in every current moment in our lives.
To have an exciting life, the first step is
practice being excited with what we can get in every current moment that we live into. Love life eventhough sometimes it sucks.

It needs practice, but it can be done.

a long thought

True, I am a person who thinks too much.

But through thinking too much, I discovered something a few days ago.

Remember the annoying telephone call that I had to answer on behalf of my colleague who was on medical leave for one day?

I realized that if take on being the cause of the matter,
I can see it in a way that I can control the situation and lead it to where I want it to be.

Instead of blaming her, I can actually be in charge and lead it to a productive outcome.
We, usually go into our emotions and rest our case, wash our hands and leave things for other people to decide.

There’s nothing wrong with that.
But if we think and act outside the box,
and take full responsibility of any situation,
we will have the possibility of creating an outcome which is beneficial for everyone.

I totally forgotten about that.
A respectful person will always respect the rest.

So I take back my words saying that the girl has tiny brains.
She indeed has brains the same size as everyone else.
