Once, there were two men wearing dark blue police uniform, requesting a lady to hand over her handbag to check her identity card.
Suddenly these two guys grabbed away the handbag and fled using a motorbike.
Two youngsters nearby, got onto their bike and chased after them.
Until actually the thieves arrived to a spot where their gang were waiting there.
One of the bad guys kicked the youngster’s bike, and they fell.
One of the two youngsters- not wearing a helmet, falling down, hit the hard road on his head, cracked the skull, and passed away.
Malaysians today do not help at all because “it’s dangerous to help anymore nowadays”.
But we can go beyond that- we’ll just help in anyway that we can, instead of just keeping quiet and not doing anything at all.
Either we all quickly jot down the plat number of the vehicle involved,
Call the police using our handphones,
And try to remember the appearance of the criminals.
Or for those youngster who are brave enough to help,
Instead of directly chasing them and risking your life,
Follow the criminals cautiously until they stop at a certain destination,
And inform the right people for further action.
The least that we can do to help is just by screaming.
At least that'll get people's attention.
get off it
Are you a friendly, chattery person, who don’t mind talking to anyone at all?
I guess people who are directly into sales, event management and politicians
would say yes.
There is this former IT staff who is now working in another department.
I saw him a few times but never had the intention of saying hi and getting to know each other. Especially when one of my colleagues gossiped to me bad things about him. Well, that’s just an excuse- basically I didn’t want to take the initiative at all.
Until today, just a few minutes ago.
I had to brave myself to call him to ask a few questions about this software which he took care of before he left.
I felt that the conversation did not went well-
It was awkward and I felt like an idiot at the moment when he said-
“You all should know about the license that we have, it’s all inside the files”.
Well, what he said about the files is true.
Rather than wasting time feeling degraded,
I should just go and refer the files.
I’m dropping off this ill feeling and have my work done.

rules
Mentioned in the newspaper, one Moslem clerical in Perak said that the original form of yoga is not permissible among the Moslems, if there is mantra chanting involved.
I agree with this.

If one person studies the Islam religion sufficiently in primary and secondary school, this is clearly understood.
Readings that portray worshipping god(s) in other religion is not allowed, even if the person do not believe in it. It will lead to the label- syirik.
Just find those yoga groups which don’t chant. Simple.
Mentioned in the newspaper quite long ago, one religious teacher said that putting the red decorative henna on a bride’s hand is not allowed because it’s a culture outside Islam. And also because the prophet forbids tattoo.
I do not agree with this.

God likes pretty and beautiful things.
If "culture" is the case, then Moslems should not wear or use-
working clothes that originated from the West,
shoes and sandals,
paper that came from China,
any mode of transportation except horses and camels.

As long as it doesn’t permanently stay in the skin-
(like permanent tattoos- it goes right into the skin and makes ablution doesn’t cover the tattooed skin- hence the solat is not valid)
Then I think it’s okay.

Suddenly, around half past eleven in the morning,
the phones were ringing everywhere in the IT/Admin/Finance Dept,
but non were answered.

Practically there was no one to be seen.
But there was no fire drill and office is open as usual today.
What is the matter with the office....?
What could it be....?
Where did we fall....?
*put in dramatic Japanese horror soundtrack*
We had a raya feast today!!
(Most of us were berkerumun at the buffet table
at the corner of the office to get our food)
And this is my cluttered table-

There goes my puasa sunat plan.
p/s- the office photo at the far above is SOO NOT my office ya.
mine even more vogue, thank you very much.

newspaper article
Alerted by my friend, I read this article from Harian Metro, 26th October.
“Bukan kerana saya tak sayangkan isteri lagi tapi setiap kali menatap wajahnya, saya menyedari saya tidak lagi menyukainya sebagaimana ketika mula-mula berkahwin dulu.
Lagipun, saya malu kalau anak tahu ayah mereka sebenarnya gay,” kata Razi.

open house
Last weekend, we had a blast at my parent’s house.
All the junks were hidden on the top floor, and the living area was cleared and decorated.

Friends and relatives from different backgrounds and lifestyles came over.
It’s quite interesting to see that each son of the family has their own group of friends.
Including mine, who made a grand entrance in the evening.
People glare and people stare,
But we don’t care.
We had a good time,
Eating, joking, and laughing.
They commute from far away, and it was worth it.
So I thought.
Until the next morning,
Just before I leave the house to return to Damansara,
I had this conversation with mom.
“Why are your friends now like that?
You have to wisely choose your friends,
Because they shape you what you are.
Are you like them?”
“They have been my friends since high school.”
“Ya, but when your friends do bad things,
It’s wrong for you to say- it’s okay, it’s alright.
It doesn’t matter what people say,
But it does matter what God says.
You have to read and learn more about the religion.”
“I have prayed in front of Ka’aba
And we are just what we are.”
“What are you?
Are you a Moslem?
You have to be concerned with
Where God will put you in the end-
Whether you are along with the good Moslems
Or not.”
“That is for God to decide.
We’ve tried.”
“You can’t say that.
It is already stated,
And now is not like the past.
In this modern world there are a lot of methods.
Apparently you did not try hard enough.”
And I left.
Today I went through the internet and basically I googled the keywords like
Gay + Moslem + Surah
My result of findings-
Basically, there quite a sum of surah that mention the condemnation of this being.
There is also one geographical information pertaining to the earthquake disaster that actually happened in the land of the prophet Lut. The writer also mentioned about the tragedy in Pompeii where the victims were being said as to commit in adultery during the event. An interesting conclusion closed the article- “but still people insist on not learning lessons of the past”.
I am a person with an odd orientation.
If I were to take this road towards being a hetero,
I’ll be just spending years of my life trying to be someone else.
I’ll suffer, I’ll get stressed out, lose my hair, become sick,
And might eventually die “an honorable death”-
Because of the fight against my own orientation
Which is deemed as unnatural in this world.
Am I willing to do that?
Apart of this dispute I have;
I really appreciated that my friends
take the effort to come all the way
from Damansara and even Putrajaya.
It was still worth it,
because perhaps it would be the last.
We'll have celebration at my apartment instead, next time.

one of my favorites
Long ago, I was shocked to know that my favorite perfume is already out of stock.

Apparently CK decided to discontinue the product.
I asked to test a lot of other perfumes, and I think that DKNY Be Delicious is the closest to resemble CK Crave.

So a few years after that, I decided to save money to buy perfume in the future.
And I got some money eventually-
But it was a mistake when I bought the wrong type of DKNY.

In fact that time I bought it (the wrong one) because it smelt nice,
and totally forgotten about CK Crave.

So next time I'm going to buy the right one-lah.

five questions
What would you do if (or What will you do because) your workplace was (is) closed today and you could (can) do anything you wanted?
Anything? As in even the most impossible things? Ah, I would fly to Singapore and get the most expensive Vincent Bach trumpet as a “souvenir”, and when I come back in the evening, I’ll go to the most expensive spa in One Utama.

On the more logical side, if it’s an unexpected off day for today, I would plan to practice that darned difficult running notes of my trumpet part in the live band that I am joining now. At least I would improve a lot before the next rehearsal with the band.
Have you ever been emotionally attached to someone in a way that was detrimental to you?
Last time, as a college boy knowing nothing much, I’ve decided to have a relationship with this fella who is a few years younger than me. Our one week affair was a disaster when he admit that he slept around.
What is the most beautiful word you know, in any language?
Tweji. It’s Korean. Check it out.
What one thing limits your freedom the most?
That would be money- limited money means limited things to buy, limited performances to go and watch, limited mileage to go and travel.
And I do feel restricted like a unicorn in a golden cage (hahah.. sempat lagi) when it comes to rental payment and bills because I have to support the house before I get the redemption payment from my friends.

But it’s just a reason, an excuse. Issues concerning money will always be there.
We can always find a way to go beyond that excuse if we want to.
Show and Tell. What comes to mind first when you see this picture? Or, tell a story if it reminds you of one?

It reminds me of the beach in Sentosa Island, where teens play beach volleyball under the sun. Ya, I know, this picture's at night. Whatever.

not enough sleep
Human trait-
When we're so free, we get restless and wanna do something huge kononnya.
When we're so busy, we struggle to reach out to get fresh air.
Must raise one hand to pretend reaching for air, and shout, "BAG..."
(Matilah only a few understand this)
I suddenly got two huge projects-
Rehearsing for a live band competition,
Rehearsing inside a theater production.
Will tell more about it when everything is done.
Back to my work now! Ta.

we all worry too
I do know that I’ve been worrying a lot lately.
Will I have enough money for the month?
Will I able to achieve this grade five through out all these situations that I am facing now?
Will I able to eat and afford myself whenever I have to forward my own money first to pay for the whole rent of the house, before the other housemates pay me later?
Will they even pay me the money?
Was it a good idea to curse a friend to the end of our relationship?
When can I pay my student loan?
When can I pay back the money I owe dear dear Z?
Will my bike be okay?
Will my hair grow back?
Why can’t people understand?
Why is there a huge cockroach in the house? (Okay now I’m a bit too drama here).
Worries, regrets, wonders, more worries.
It consumes you inside out.
Really, people fall sick and die not because of the troubles that they are facing with,
But it’s the worry and the resistance of accepting the situation with a peaceful heart.
I worried and worried.
Til I totally forgotten that life, is just a game.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
So what if I had a few huge losses in my life?
Successful people even went through harder times than me.
What matters is, have you play your game full out.
Sometimes I’ve forgotten to just take it easy.
If I take it too hard, then life will feel even harder.
Go all out with in the name of God, and it doesn’t matter if I lose.
But if I try all out, there’s always a possibility to win.
Don’t think what you cannot do, think of what you CAN do to reach for it.
That’s what my friend said.

respectful people respect people.
In the real working world, there are a colorful variety of staff that I have to work with.
Some are blonde who don’t have a clue on how important it is to have the network cable or the mouse to be CONNECTED to your PC BEFORE you can use it,
Some are secretly IT geniuses who are humble and let you the freedom to do your job.
And I admit that I do notice that some staff also gave that certain look on you,
As if in their eyes they are saying that “You are just someone whose job is to fix the tools in our office.”
It’s nothing big actually, but I thought of it-
What it takes to gain some respect from these people?
Do I arrogantly and purposely utter things like-
“Sigh.. things easy like this also need us to fix?”
Do I boldly say that my father is a prominent figure who always deal with your CEO?
(Even I was surprised- I only realized it when father told me last Idulfitr)
I shrugged and was amused to realize that I myself have such wasteful thoughts.
The ideal way of gaining respect is to work it out on your own.
Through your effort and through your sincerity.
And of course, you will have to respect people first.
My friend reminded me that a respectful man will always treat another person with respect,
Regardless how hateful he is towards that particular person.
And if the other person do not know how to respect, hey, maybe that fellow is not a respectful person too.
Keep life simple, have to put that stopper when you start thinking too much.

the actions with blessings that outlives you
Actions of investment for the life here after.
- Give Koran to someone and each time they read from it, you will gain hasanaat.
- Teach someone to recite a prayer. With each recitation, you will gain hasanaat.
- Donate a wheel chair to a hospital and each time a sick person uses it, you will gain hasanaat.
- Plant a tree. Each time any person or an animal sits under its shade or eats from the tree, you will gain hasanaat.
- Place a water cooler in a public place.
- Share constructive reading material with someone.
- Participate in the building of a mosque.
- Share a prayer or Koran CD.
- Help in educating a child.
But the most important thing is to do your stuff
with sincerity of contributing to people and the world.
That’s where you’ll find a purpose in life.
nice to the eyes
I’m being a child.
Appreciating the small routines in life.
Last Sunday I decided to re-arrange my wardrobe.
Usually I just chuck all my briefs and socks in a small basket,
Couldn’t be bothered to fold them neatly.
(After all, I'm using them daily, why care?)
I did the opposite instead, last Sunday.

It felt quite pleasant to see things being put neatly.

These are experimental photos taken by Bibik.
Only one photo was taken by me.
It's a shame if they're not shown to people,
so I post them here.

Mixture of green and purple.

Violet.

Pinkish.

Glory red.

Neon purple? Hm.

answering random twenty questions
1. When is the last time you had a papercut?
I really can’t remember.
I almost think that I never experienced it at all.
But I did get a haircut a week ago.
Maybe next time in memes people should put questions like,
When’s the last time you had a haircut? Or
Have you watched Cutthroat Island? Or
When’s the last time you had a C-cut in your score?
2. What was the best part of your weekend?
Do I answer this in the times of the weekend, such as morning part, afternoon part, or evening part? Or am I not eligible to answer it because I don’t work part time?
Or should I answer as quick as I can in traditional pantun form, because the word “part” rhythms with the pantun:
Pat pat siku lipat,
Siapa cepat dia dapat?
I guess the best part of the weekend is the moment I could go and have a swim after tidying up the whole house for the week.
3. Do you like peanut butter?
I remember my sister spelled it as Penat Butter when she’s small.
It sounds as if Peanut Butter is actually Butter which is already penat becoming a Butter so it decided to become Peanut Butter instead.
Actually I’ll use a tiny bit of peanut butter (for the hint of taste) with lots of butter. Yummy.
4. List three foods you can’t stand.
This is a tricky trick question.
I think it should be anything with gravy, because it’s quite impossible to eat that while you stand.
But if you see this question in another way, it’s rude to stand and step onto any kind of food. Because fish are food, not friend.
5. Did you make your bed this morning?
Wah, then I have to become a carpenter then.
I can imitate Karen Carpenter though.
Why do birds
Suddenly appear?
Everytime you are near
Just like me
They long to be
Close to you
Why do stars
Fall down from the sky?
Everytime you walk by
Just like me
They long to be
Close to you
*twirling

what she said
According to what my brother told me-
My cousin, she said this out LOUD,
“Why everybody always
Go work,
Come back,
Cook,
Sleep.
Go work,
Come back,
Cook,
Sleep.
Next time when I have my own house,
I’ll have no kitchen.”
Sounds like living in a rut, huh.
